What's the Goal?
Please feel free to ask if you're struggling when it comes to grading. The more systematic the grading can be, the more bias opinion can be removed from the equation. *Remember, grades should reflect student's understanding and not a parent or PLT's feeling about the student's abilities. |
What does a grade reflect? Please know that this is an area for clarification and support. It is not meant to dictate how students are to be assessed. Below is a great way to think about how to evaluate your student’s knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to assigning grades for a subject area.
OLDER STUDENTS : GRADES 6-8 *For some students this process of grading is much more cut and dry - students receive daily points on questions/problems answered correctly and then those grades are compiled to reflect the student's understanding. An older student should be able to demonstrate their understanding in written and verbal forms. Some things to consider:
